Successful candidates are expected to attend mandatory bi-weekly meetings in Vancouver, BC (UBC Campus), and be available for the executive orientation on September 9, 2017.

Finance Team

Director of Finance

Duties and Responsibilities 

- Create annual budget for the organization  

- Oversee, review and adhere to budgets for each department

- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports 

- Update and implement financial policies and procedures

- Create and maintain a financial policy handbook for the organization 

- Assist Fundraising and External Communications department with the preparation of budgets for funding applications 

 


Job Specifications

- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles 

- Proficiency in the use of computer programs for accounting, word processing and spreadsheets 

- Demonstrate competence in solving problems, planning and organizing


 

 

Research Team

Research Associate 

Duties and Responsibilities 

- Collect and analyze data, research papers, scholarly articles and journals 

- Reach out to Professors and other professional in the field that is being studied 

- Ensure that online storage is maintained and updated regularly

- Assist in translating researched data for press release

Duties and Responsibilities 

- Collaborates within the team to ensure that our goals are met

- Develop an annual fundraising plan 

- Work with the Director of Finance to make an annual budget 

- Work closely with the Marketing team to establish and implement digital platforms as a basis for growth in community fundraising 

- Establish a new range of new income streams 

- Manage key relationships with committee members and attend bi-weekly meetings

- Assists in the management of all marketing for the organization and activities within the marketing department.

- Attend events and workshops organized by WAI Foundation

- Capture events and workshops organized by WAI Foundation through digital images

- Edit images and upload them on our storage in a timely manner

- Demonstrate competence in using digital cameras 

- Have access to a personal camera equipment


 

    Design and Illustration

Duties and Responsibilities 

- Work with the Marketing team to create and design content to be used in marketing 

- Actively participates in bi-weekly meetings and other initiatives by the organization 

- Working within a set timescale 

- Interpreting and creating content as outlined in the editorial calendar

Event Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities 

- Assist Director of Events with planning and executing events

- Conduct pre and post event evaluations and report on outcomes

Director of Events 

Duties and Responsibilities 

- Plan 3 dialogue sessions and one networking event 

- Plan events from start to finish according to requirements and target audience 

- Prepare budget with the assistance of the Finance team 

- Work with the Marketing team to promote the events 

-Coordinate all operations 

- Analyze the event's success and prepare reports 

- Attend bi-weekly meetings with other directors

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

YOUNG LEADERS IN ACTION PROGRAM MANAGER 

Duties and Responsibilities 

- Work with the Marketing team to develop a strategy to promote the program 

- Monitor applications for the Young Leaders in Action program 

- Consult with the directors and select the applicant to be featured 

- Work with Creative Designs and Marketing team to conduct an interview of the selected applicant 

- Liase between the applicants and the organization

- Answer applicant's questions on social media and emails
